Jail documents say the woman's boyfriend called Salt Lake City Police when he found explicit photos of the teen on the mother's cell phone. He also allegedly found messages regarding sex acts between the girl and an older man.
"This office takes very seriously crimes against children especially when it involves sexual crimes against children," says Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill.
Prosecutors say a mother was pimping out her teen daughter by putting her virginity up for sale. Police say the buyer, an older man, took the mother and daughter to Victoria Secret where they modeled lingerie for him.
Court documents say the mother took cellphone photos of her daughter in a bra and thong and sent the images to a man on several occasions for a price.
"In one of the photographs shows her buttocks are bare, so it's graphic," said Gill.
The victim's mother is facing multiple felony charges of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and sex exploitation of a minor.
The suspect's neighbors say they were shocked hearing of the charges filed against the 32-year-old mother who lived in the same apartment complex.
"Absolutely shocked, I had no idea anyting like that was going on. I've seen the girl around, she's really sweet, jumps rope, plays with her friends, she roasts marshmellows over there by the pit -- just very nice," one neighbor says.
The neighbor who spoke with FOX 13 did not want to have their identity revealed.
The district attorney says that there may be more charges filed against the alleged potential buyer.
